Section System and Academic Advisor System
To help freshmen adapt to university life, select courses, explore academic majors, plan their career paths, and build meaningful peer relationships, the Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies operates a section-based advising system.
Accordingly, all undeclared-major students are assigned to both a class section and a Residential College (RC). Each section is assigned two faculty advisors who provide academic and personal guidance, while also serving as RC Master Professors for students residing in their respective RC buildings.
SA, RA
POSTECH also operates a student advising system supported by upper-year students. Student Advisors (SAs) are assigned to each class section and provide guidance primarily on academic matters, while Residential College Advisors (RAs) are assigned to each RC floor and support students in their daily campus life.
Mentoring and Student Council
In addition, we operate the Student Mentoring Program (SMP) to help freshmen strengthen their learning abilities in required foundational courses. Furthermore, the Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies has established an RC Student Autonomy Committee to discuss and deliberate on matters related to student life and the operation of the Residential College (RC) program.
