KOREA HOMEPAGEPOSTECH

‘The name Mueunjae (無垠齋), from which the Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies derives its name, was the pen name of POSTECH's founding president, Kim Ho-gil. It reflects the belief that "there are no boundaries in scholarship" and embodies the philosophy of allowing students the freedom to explore and choose their major.

Since the 2018 academic year, all freshmen have been admitted to the Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies under a single academic division. To help students adapt successfully to university life and explore various academic disciplines before choosing their major, the School provides a wide range of academic advising, mentoring, and student support programs.

The Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies organizes freshmen into a total of 15 sections, assigning two faculty advisors and one Student Advisor (SA) to each section. At the same time, all students are required to live in the Residential College (RC) building, and 1–2 Residential College Advisors (RAs) are assigned to each floor. We are making every effort to ensure that freshmen receive support in all aspects of university life, including adapting to campus life, course selection, major exploration, career planning, and peer relationships.

In addition, we offer academic programs such as “Future Planning for College Life,” “Exploring Major,” “Introduction to Academic Majors,” and “Freshman Research Participation, as well as various extracurricular programs such as meetings with section advisors, SAs, and RAs; the Student Mentoring Program; section activities; RC-wide events; floor programs; “Dungji” activities; and volunteer work. We provide a wide range of opportunities unique to POSTECH's close-knit and student-centered educational environment.

We hope this website will help international students and prospective POSTECHIANs gain a better understanding of the Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies and the unique educational opportunities available at POSTECH. We look forward to supporting you as you begin your academic journey and become part of the POSTECH community.
